Day-to-day Itinerary
Day 1 Arrival in Urumqi
Learn the Region’s History, Local Conditions, Lively Bazaar
Upon your arrival, our guide and driver will greet you at the airport or train station. Then, they will transfer you to your hotel. After a short rest, your Urumqi tour will start!
The first stop would be Xinjiang Museum. In the museum, you can see the relics showing the autonomous region’s history, local conditions, and customs. The highlight for normal visitors may be the well-preserved mummies.
After that, you will take a walk in Red Hill Park, regarded as the symbol of the present Urumqi. Standing at the top of the hill you will have a bird’s eye of Urumqi city. At last pay a visit to Xinjiang International Bazaar. The bazaar is honored as the “Window of Xinjiang” and “Window of Central Asia”. In that typical Uyghur-style grand bazaar, you will have an in-depth look at the folk culture of Xinjiang.
Tip: you need to book a flight/train that arrives in Urumqi before 12:00.

Day 2 Heavenly Lake Tour from Urumqi
Enjoy an Optional Cruise on the Clear Waters of Tianchi
After breakfast, you will be escorted to Tianchi, aka the Heavenly Lake, a high mountain lake with an altitude of 1,910 meters. Surrounded by mountains, Tianchi Lake is a famous summer resort and tourist destination in Xinjiang, with clear and blue water. Not only does this place have magnificent natural scenery, but it also contains rich mysterious legends. You can take a walk by the lake or take a boat tour at your own expense (optional, pay on site). After the visit, return to your hotel in Urumqi.

Day 3 Urumqi to Turpan Tour
Marvel at the Best-Preserved Earth City & Unique Irrigation System
Our local guide will pick you up from the hotel and then transfer you to Turpan. Start your Turpan tour at the Flaming Hill, the hottest place in China in the summer. Then visit the Jiaohe Ruins. Existed from the 2nd century BC to the 5th century AD, it belonged to the Cheshi Kingdom, one of the 36 powerful kingdoms in the West Regions in ancient times. At present it is the largest and best-preserved earth building in the world.
At last, we will pay a visit to Karez Well, the unique irrigation system in the desert. In Turpan, there are 1000+ Karez wells which have a total length of 5000+ meters. Together with the Jinghang Grand Canal, and the Great Wall, they are called the Three Great Projects of Ancient China. After the tour in Turpan, transfer you to the local hotel for check-in.

Day 4 Turpan back to Urumqi Tour
Enjoy Snow Skiing and Hot Springs at the Silk Road Resort
Today will be all about recreation. After breakfast, the guide will greet you in the hotel. Then drive for about 1 hour and we will arrive at Silk Road International Holiday Resort.
In the resort, you will enjoy snow skiing and hot springs. The Silk Road International Ski Resort is one of the top three ski resorts in China. There are 8 trails for the skiers at different levels. The sightseeing cable car would transfer you to/from the ski field which has an altitude of 2280 meters. You will enjoy the exciting skiing time and enjoy the beautiful snow scenery of Tianshan Mountain.
After lunch on your own, enjoy the relaxing by having a hot spring bath. It would be just what you need after the intense skiing time. After the hot spring bath, we will drive back to Urumqi.

Day 5 Urumqi Departure
At confirmed time, the driver will pick you up from hotel. Then transfer you to airport / train station for departure. Your 5-day extended Urumqi tour of Xinjiang comes to a perfect end!
