Day 1 Arrival in Urumqi

Hello, welcome to our 5-day Xinjiang package tour of Urumqi! Upon arrival, a local private driver will wait for you at the airport terminal exit by holding a welcome sign with your name. Then drive you to the well-selected hotel and have a good rest. The rest of the day is free at your disposal.

Day 2 Urumqi to Heavenly Lake Tour
Enjoy Stunning Mountain & Lake Views and Local Legends

After breakfast, your guided Urumqi tour in Xinjiang begins! Meet your private guide in the hotel lobby and drive for about 1.5 hours to reach Tianshan Tianchi, aka the Heavenly Lake, a 5A level scenic spot known for its high mountains, lakes, and magnificent natural scenery.

The expert tour guide will explain the myths related to the area, such as the bathing of the Queen Mother of the West. Optional boat activities (self funded) are available here. After the tour, drive you back to Urumqi hotel for rest.‌

Day 3 Urumqi to Southern Pasture Tour
Appreciate Grassland Scenery and Visit a Local Family

Today, continue your Urumqi trip to Southern Pasture, which takes approximately 1.5 hours by car. It was a famous hunting area during the Tang Dynasty (618-907) and a famous pasture during the Qing Dynasty (1616-1911). This place has received many heads of state and leaders from various countries, and enjoys a certain reputation both domestically and internationally.

Located in the heartland of Asia, Southern Pasture is characterized by its ice and snow landscapes, lush forests and grasslands, unique mountain rocks, high-altitude forest pastoral scenery, and rich ethnic minority customs. Appreciate the beautiful grassland scenery and herds of cattle and horses. The tour guide will also take you to visit a local family and learn about their living habits. At last, drive back to Urumqi.

Day 4 Urumqi City Tour
Learn about Xinjiang’s History and Catch a City Landscape

In the morning, enjoy a Urumqi tour in the city center. The first attraction is Red Hill Park, named after the Red Mountain, which is composed of purple sandstone and presents a reddish brown color. The Red Hill Pagoda was built in the Qing Dynasty and is a symbol of the park.

Climbing up the top, one can overlook the beautiful scenery of Urumqi city and the Bogda Peak in the Tianshan Mountains. In addition, there are many cultural relics, amusement facilities, beautiful lakes, and flower exhibitions (depending on the season) in the park.

In the afternoon, take a guided tour of Xinjiang Regional Museum to have a glimpse of Xinjiang’s history and costume. You can see the ethnic and historic artifacts and also some well-preserved mummies in the museum. After that, drive back to the hotel.
