Day-to-day Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival in Urumqi
Experience the Charm of the Western Regions

Welcome to Urumqi, the capital city of Xinjiang, for our 4-day cultural tour in Xinjiang. After arrival, your personal driver will pick you up and transfer you to a hotel in the city center for check-in procedures. You can visit on your own during the remaining time.

It is recommended to take a walk around Erdaoqiao Grand Bazaar, a symbol of prosperity for commerce and tourism in Xinjiang, as well as a great place to experience the charm of the Western Regions. Here, you can see the rich Islamic architectural style, reproducing the prosperity of the ancient Silk Road. Various handicrafts, carpets, and silk are dazzling. In addition, you can taste authentic Xinjiang food.

Day 2 Urumqi City Tour
Glimpse Xinjiang’s History and Costume in a Museum

In the morning, your Urumqi tour guide and driver will pick you up from the hotel lobby and then drive to visit the Red Hill Park which is regarded as the symbol of Urumqi City. With an altitude of 910.8 meters, the whole hill looks like a dragon crouching on the ground with its head towards the Urumqi River.

In the afternoon, take a guided tour of Xinjiang Regional Museum to have a glimpse of Xinjiang’s history and costume. You can see the ethnic and historic artifacts and also some well-preserved mummies in the museum. After that, drive back to the hotel.

Day 3 Urumqi to Southern Pasture Tour
Appreciate the Scenery of the Grassland and Visit a Local Family

After breakfast, continue your Urumqi trip to Southern Pasture to have a full day tour there.  The southern Pasture boasts a nice grassland view, cattle and horses herds, and yurts for tourists to have short rest and other items full of local taste. You can enjoy the grassland view and visit a local family. At last, drive back to Urumqi.

Day 4 Departure from Urumqi

Today is free for you to arrange activities until your driver sees you off at the Urumqi Airport / Train Station. This is the end of your 4 days China Silk Road trip to Urumqi.
