    Day 3 Urumqi – Turpan by Car: Gaochang Ancient Kingdom Ruins, Astana Tomb Group, Toyuq Village, Bizeklik Thousand Buddha Caves, Flaming Mountain

    Day 4 Turpan – Urumqi by Car – Kashgar by Flight: Karez Well, Sugong Pagoda

    Day 5 Kashgar: Livestock Market, Sunday Market, Id Kah Mosque, Apak Hoja Tomb, Kashgar Old Town

    Day 6 Kashgar – Karakul Lake: Karakul Lake

    Itinerary Details

    Day 1Urumqi Arrival (No meal)

    Upon your arrival, our guide and driver will meet you in airport by holding the name board. Then you will be escorted to hotel. Enjoy your free time in the rest of the day.

    Day 2Urumqi – Heavenly Lake – Urumqi (Breakfast + Lunch)

    After your hotel breakfast, meet your guide and driver at hotel lobby and then head to Heavenly Lake. 100 kilometers away from city of Urumqi, Heavenly Lake gives the impression of nobleness, elegance and beauty. Clear lake, snow mountains and soaring trees compose the charming scenery of the Heavenly Lake. Then back to hotel in Urumqi.

    Day 3Urumqi – Turpan by Car (Breakfast + Lunch)

    After hotel breakfast, you will be escorted to Turpan and visit the highlight things in the City. The first one will be Gaochang Ancient Kingdom Ruins. In ancient time, it was a bustling hub in Western Asia Region. Next we will pay a visit to Astana Tomb Group. According to excavation, there are 400 independent tombs from West Jin Period (265-316) to the Tang Dynasty(618-907). Then drive to visit Toyuq Village where you will see the typical Uyghur style rammed earth houses and the life of local people. After then pay a visit to Bizeklik Thousand Buddha Caves locates at foot of Flaming Mountain. Throughout the period of Gaochang Kingdom, the Bizeklik Buddha Caves were the religious center of Buddhism. The last stop would be the Falming Mountain, the hottest place in China in summer. The Chinese novel Journey to West makes the mountain known to everyone.

    Day 4Turpan – Urumqi by Car – Kashgar by Flight (Breakfast + Lunch)

    In the morning board the car and transfer to visit Karez Well, an amazing irrigation system that take advantage of the snow melt water from Tianshan Mountain to make Turpan an oasis in desert. Then you will pay a visit to Sugong Pagoda. It is a exquisite Islamic architecture built in 1800s in the Qing Dynasty. After lunch you will be escorted to Urumqi airport to take the flight to Kashgar. Met by guide and driver in Kashgar and check in the hotel.

    Day 5Kashgar (Breakfast + Lunch)

    In the morning, the guide and driver will meet you at hotel lobby at confirmed time. Then you will pay a visit to the local Livestock Market, the most interesting part of the famous Sunday Market. Then you will take a walk to see the other parts of the market. After then drive to visit Id Kah Mosque, the largest Mosque in China. The Mosque is not only the important spot for religious activities but also the important institute to spread Islam and train religious personnel. The Mosque will be followed by Abakh Khoja Tomb, the tomb of the Emperor Qianlong’s Concubine. At last take a walk in Kashgar Old Town to see the traditional folk houses and local people’s real life.

    Day 6 Kashgar – Karakul Lake (Breakfast + Lunch)

    Today we will do a full day tour to Karakul Lake. The lake is 190 km from Kashgar and has an altitude of 3600 meters above sea level. It is surrounded by iceberg and the white cape of the iceberg reflects their images in lake. Visitors could optionally have a rest in yurt and try some local specialties. In the afternoon back to hotel in Kashgar.

    Day 7Karakul Lake – Tashkorgan (Breakfast + Lunch)

    Get up in the early morning to appreciate the sunrise. Then you will have some free time to hike around the Karakul Lake and through the nearby villages. After lunch board the car and we will drive to Tashkorgan. On the way we will meet the Subashi Pass and the scenic valleys. In the late afternoon, we will arrive at the Tashkorgan County which borders Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan.

    Day 8Tashkorgan – Kashgar Departure (Breakfast + Lunch)

    In the morning board the car to explore the highlight attractions in this border town: Stone Fort, Tajik Village, Tashkorgan Museum. The history of Stone Fort can be dated back to the Han Dynasty in 2000 years ago and is an important city ruins along the ancient Silk Road. The visit to Tajik Village to see the real life of local people. And in the Tashkorgan Museum you will get some basic knowledge of the county. After lunch, you will be escorted to Kashgar airport for departure.
