    Day 4 Tashkorgan County– Kashgar by car: Stone Fortress

    Day 5 Kashgar – Urumqi by Flight: Heavenly Lake, Erdaoqiao International Bazaar

    Day 6 Urumqi – Turpan by car: Karez Well, Sugong Pagoda, Jiaohe Ruins

    Day 7 Turpan – Dunhuang: Echoing-Sand Mountain, Crescent Lake

    Day 8 Dunhuang: Mogao Grottoes, Yumen Pass, Great Wall of the Han Dynasty

    Itinerary Details

    Day 1Kashgar Arrival

    Our driver and guide will wait for you at the train station or airport by holding a welcome sign with your name on it. Then you will be driven to the hotel and have a good rest. The rest of the day is free at your disposal.

    Day 2Kashgar (Breakfast)

    In the morning, we will pay a visit to Id Kah Mosque, a typical Islamic architecture including elements like domes, minarets and arches, as well as pious prayers. Then head to Old Town of Kashgar, where bring you back to the ancient Kashgar, with narrow alleys and traditional houses built with earth or brick. Afterwards we will visit the Abakh Khoja Tomb, an ancient Islamic building complex and a cemetery where five generations of famous Islamic masters were buried. At last we will visit Handicraft Street where we will have chance to see lots of local handmade works. Finally, drive back to hotel. Accommodation: Tianyuan Hotel

    Day 3Kashgar – Karakul Lake –Tashkorgan County(Breakfast)

    In the morning pay a visit to the local Sunday Market. Then spend rest of the day to visit Karakul Lake whose altitude is about 3600 meters. The lake is on the Pamirs Plateau, sitting at the foot of the famous Mt. Muztagh Ata, bearing the snow cap all year around. The grand snowy peak combined the calm & pure lake forms a surprisingly beautiful picture here, attracting endless travelers each year. At the same time, you will appreciate the landscape of Pamirs.     Day 4Tashkorgan County – Kashgar (Breakfast)

    In Tashkorgan County we will visit Stone Fortress where you will see both the great works by nature and historical ruins from ancient dynasties. In an ancient ruins you will see the layout of the city which existed there long ancient Silk Road. And you could also find some Tajiks folk culture taste there. After visiting drive back to Kashgar. Accommodation: Tianyuan Hotel

    Day 5Kashgar – Urumqi by Flight (Breakfast)

    After hotel breakfast drive to Kashgar airport to catch the flight to Urumqi. We will advise flight schedule in advance. Arriving in Urumqi met by local guide and driver. Then continue to do your tour to Heavenly Lake where tourists could optionally do a cruise on the lake. It will make you totally relaxed no matter you are sitting in a boat, walking in the mountains, or just standing by the lake. When back to Urumqi in the afternoon pay a visit to Erdaoqiao International Bazaar. Accommodation: Jingu Hotel

    Day 6Urumqi – Turpan (Breakfast)

    Board the van in the morning and drive to Turpan. In Turpan you will visit the Karez Well— an amazing irrigation system which made Turpan a rich oasis. Then we will go to visit Sugong Pagoda, the largest existed ancient Islamic pagoda in Xinjiang. Afterward drive to the Jiaohe Ruins, one of the most important towns along the ancient Silk Road and the largest, oldest and best-preserved earth construction in the world.     Day 7Turpan – Dunhuang (Breakfast)

    In the morning please arrange your own way (It takes about CNY8 from hotel to train station by taxi )to Turpan Train Station to catch the fast train to Dunhuang. Met by your local guide and driver in Dunhuang train station and you will visit the Echoing-Sand Mountain—when you slide down the slope, you can hear the roaring echo of sands, hence the name. The optional short Camel Ride on the golden desert will leave you an unforgettable lifetime memory if you are interested in it. Then we will move to the Crescent Lake which is next to the Echoing- Sand Mountain, your eyes will be feasted on the crescent-shaped spring surrounded by the endless Gobi Desert.     Day 8Dunhuang (Breakfast)

    Today we will visit one of the top 4 famous grottoes in China – Mogao Grottoes. It is acknowledged as the pearl along ancient Silk Road and a World Culture Heritage. The statues and murals in the grottoes explain some basic facts of local culture, arts, Buddhism, economy, and tradings along Silk Road in ancient times. In the afternoon we will visit Yumen Pass and Great Wall of the Han Dynasty. Yumen Pass was the crucial pass through where Jade produce in Xinjiang came to central China. And though the Great Wall of the Han Dynasty is much less grand than the Great Wall in Beijing, It was the strong military construction that stopped enemies from north border of ancient China.

    Day 9Dunhuang Departure (Breakfast)

    You will be picked up from hotel and transferred to airport for your flight departing Dunhuang.
