    Itinerary Details

    Day 1Xian Arrival (No Meals)

    Our driver and guide will wait for you at the airport terminal exit by holding a welcome sign with your name on it. Then you will be driven to the hotel and have a good rest. The rest of the day is free at your disposal. Accommodation: Xian

    Day 2Xian (Breakfast+Lunch+Dinner)

    In the morning, pick up from hotel and drive for about 1.5 hours to visit the world famous Terracotta Warriors and Horses. On the way to Terracotta Warriors we will pay a short visit to Terracotta Factory which focuses on reproduction of Terracotta Figures. Then drive back to downtown city to ancient City Wall, the largest and best-preserved wall extant in China now, running 13.75km, enclosing the old capital. Afterwards move to visit Big Wild Goose Pagoda which was build 1,300 years ago in the Tang Dynasty to keep the Buddhist Sutra brought back to China from ancient India by Master Xuanzang.
    In the evening we will arrange dumpling banquet as dinner and then appreciate the Tang Dynasty Music and Dance show. Back to hotel at about 21:30. Accommodation: Xian

    Day 3Xian to Baoji by Car/Van (Breakfast)

    After hotel breakfast pick up from hotel and transfer to visit Famen Temple which situated about 10 km north of the county seat of Fufeng in Shanxi province, and 118 km west of Xian (the provincial capital), the Famen Temple is a famous Buddhist temple which holds the genuine relics of Gautama Buddha (Sakyamuni). Patronized by a succession of emperors, this temple became one of the four most sacred Buddhist sanctuaries in China. Then drive to Baoji and stay overnight in Baoji City. Accommodation: Baoji

    Day 4Baoji to Guyuan by Car/Van (Breakfast)

    After breakfast check out hotel in Baoji and continue our silk road tour to Guyuan County in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region which lies at the north route of Silk Road. After about 5 hours driving we will arrive at Guyuan and visit Xumishan Grottoes one of the top ten Buddhist grottoes in China. The grottoes were excavated on eight different rock mountains, making up a majestic picture. Then transfer to hotel in Guyuan County. Accommodation: Guyuan

    Day 5Guyuan to Lanzhou by Car/Van (Breakfast)

    In the morning check out Guyuan hotel and drive about 5 hours to Lanzhou. Arriving in Lanzhou w will check in hotel first. After a short rest in hotel we will start Lanzhou tour with White Pagoda Hill. Standing on the mountain top one will have an overlook of Lanzhou City. Going downhill we will take a walk along Huanghe Fengqing Line and visit Mother Sculpture of Yellow River which is located at the south bank of Yellow River. Last go to visit Water Wheel Garden. The most remarkable thing in this garden is the waterwheel, an irrigation tool invented in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). Back to hotel. Accommodation: Lanzhou

    Day 6Lanzhou to Zhangye by High Speed Train (Breakfast)

    Pick up from hotel in the early morning and transfer to train station for train to Zhangye. Upon arrival in Zhangy be met by local driver and guide and transfer to visit Danxia Mountain where you will see a truly picturesque world. Then move to the Giant Buddha which is considered the largest architectural relics in Gansu Province. The Buddha Figure is so large that only the ear could keep 4 adults at one time.     Day 7Zhangye to Jiayuguan by High Speed Train (Breakfast)

    In the early morning pick up from hotel and transfer to train station to catch the high speed train to Jiayuguan. Arriving in Jiayuguan in about 3 hours and we will visit Jiayuguan Pass, the very west starting point of the Chinese Great Wall. Here you will see the Great Wall constructed on cliff. Next move to the Great Wall Museum where you will get some comprehensive knowledge of Great Wall as a military defensive system in ancient China. Accommodation: Jiayuguan

    Day 8Jiayuguan to Dunhuang by Car/Van (Breakfast)

    After hotel breakfast we will check out hotel in Jiayuguan and drive about 5 hours to arrive at Dunhuang. Arriving in Dunhuang we will visit the Echoing-Sand Mountain. When you slide down the slope, you can hear the roaring echo of sands, hence the name. Wander around the Echoing-Sand Mountain we will reach the Crescent Lake, your eyes will be feasted on the crescent-shaped spring surrounded by the endless Gobi desert. Then transfer back to Dunhuang hotel. If have time, you could take a walk to explore the Shanzhou Night Market on your own. Accommodation: Dunhuang

    Day 9Dunhuang Departure (Breakfast)

    Start today’s tour with Mogao Caves, one of the four most famous caves in China. The grottoes, also know as Caves of the Thousand Buddha, preserve nearly a thousand years of Buddhist cave temple architecture, clay sculpture, mural paintings, and manuscripts, dating from the 5th to the 14th centuries. In the afternoon, we will visit Dunhuang Museum. The Dunhuang Museum is built in the year 1979 with an area of 2400 square meters, and it is located in the downtown area of Dunhuang City. The museum maily collects and displays the local cultural relics of local area. Service ends here and transfer to train station or airport to depart Dunhuang.
