    Itinerary Details

    Day 1Xian arrival (No meals)

    Upon your arrival in Xian, our local driver will meet you at train station or airport by holding a welcome board with your name and then transfer to your hotel to have a good rest. The rest day will be left for your disposal. Accommodation: Xian

    Day 2Xian (Breakfast+Lunch+Dinner)

    Our English speaking tour guide will pick you up from the hotel lobby in the morning. Then after a short visit to Terracotta Figures Factory which focuses on reproduction of Terracotta figures, you will be directly transfer to the Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses. Known as “the eighth Wonders of the world”, the museum shows a surprisingly high level in sculpture, which is the most significant discovers of the 20th century. The splendid scene and format will leave you an impressive memory. After lunch, continuing visiting the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, which is a worship place for Buddhists. The pagoda was originally built to hold sutras and figurines of the Buddha that Xuanzang brought back to China from India. Last come to the Xian Ancient City Wall. It is the most complete preserved and the largest city wall in China. It was built for the military defense in the ancient time. Since it is cycling the city, visitors can optionally ride a bike around the city wall. Back to hotel. Accommodation: Xian

    Day 3Xian to Lanzhou by Bullet Train (Breakfast+Lunch+Dinner)

    The tour guide and the driver will meet you in your hotel lobby and will go to visit the the Shaanxi History Museum which is one the biggest museums in China housing the cultural heritage of Shaanxi Province and shows the development of the Chinese civilization. After that you will be escorted to take the bullet D2689 (13:00/16:09) or similar train to Lanzhou. Upon arrival in Lanzhou met by local driver and guide and transfer to visit Yellow River Park to appreciate grand and tranquil beauty of the mother river of Chinese nation. Then back to hotel.     Day 4Lanzhou to Xiahe by Car  (Breakfast+Lunch+Dinner)

    In the morning we will do the tour to Binglingsi Grottoes by boat to visit the completely preserved grottoes. There are776 Buddha statues, over 1,076 square yards murals and 6 stones sculptures from 1,600 years ago waiting for your exploring. We will first drive to Liujiaxia Dam from where to aboard the boat and explore Binglingsi Temple. After lunch we will drive for about 5 hours to arrive at Xiahe and check in local hotel. Accommodation: Xiahe

    Day 5Xiahe to Lanzhou by Car (Breakfast+Lunch+Dinner)

    In the morning we will first go to visit the Labrang Monastery, the largest Buddhist Institute of Tibetan Buddhism. Where tourists will also appreciate thousands of statues of Buddha made of various materials. After lunch drive about 4 hours to back to Lanzhou. The rest day is free for you. Accommodation: Lanzhou

    Day 6Lanzhou to Wuwei by Car  (Breakfast+Lunch+Dinner)

    After hotel breakfast pick up by driver and guide from hotel lobby and drive for about 4 hours to arrive in Wuwei County to visit Leitai Han Tomb about 1,800 years ago. From where the tourism symbol of China Galloping Horse Treading on a Flying Swallow was unearthed. After that, go to the Confucius Temple, the largest and best-preserved Confucius Temple in northwest China. The Confucius Temple here was originally built in the Ming Dynasty in memory of Confucius, the greatest educator in ancient China. At last we will pay a visit to Haizang Temple. The temple is one of the a few complete preserved ancient architectures along the Hexi Corridor. Accommodation: Wuwei

    Day 7Wuwei to Zhangye by Car (Breakfast+Lunch+Dinner)

    Pick up from your hotel and drive westwards for 3 hours we will arrive at Zhangye. We will firstly visit the Giant Buddha Temple which is said to be the birthplace of Kublai Khan. Here tourists will witness the largest indoor clay reclined Buddha in Asia. Afterwards we will pay a visit to the Bell Tower and Drum Tower in downtown city which are similar to the Bell Tower and Drum Tower in Xian. Then transfer to hotel in Zhangye. Accommodation: Zhangye

    Day 8Zhangye to Jiayuguan by Car (Breakfast+Lunch+Dinner)

    After hotel breakfast pick up from hotel lobby and driver for about 3 hours to Jiayuguan. In Jiayuguan we will visit the famous Jiayuanguan Pass, the utmost west part of China Great Wall. Then continue to the Wei-Jin Art Gallery, a huge tomb group of more than 1,400 tombs built between the 3rd and 5th century during the Wei and Jin dynasties at last we will pay a visit the the Overhanging Great Wall to find another kind of dangerous beauty of Chinese Great Wall. After the tour transfer to hotel in Jiayuguan. Accommodation: Jiayugan

    Day 9 Jiayuguan to Anxi by Car (Breakfast+Lunch+Dinner)

    In the morning pick up from hotel lobby and drive for about 3 hours to arrive in Anxi to visit Yulin Grottoes which was excavated from the North Wei Dynasty to the Yuan Dynasty. The grottoes enjoys the reputation “Sister Grottoes of Mogao Grottoes”. After the visit there, transfer to hotel in Anxi.

    Day 10Anxi to Dunhaung by Car/Van (Breakfast+Lunch+Dinner)

    In the morning pick up from hotel lobby and drive for about 2 hours to arrive in Dunhuang to visit Mogao Caves, one of the four most famous caves in China. In the afternoon, continue to visit the Echoing-Sand Mountain. When you slide down the slope, you can hear the roaring echo of sands, hence the name. Walking along the mountain to reach the Crescent Lake, your eyes will be feasted on the crescent-shaped spring surrounded by the endless Gobi desert. At last transfer to hotel in Dunhuang. Accommodation: Dunhuang

    Day 11Dunahuang (Breakfast+Lunch+Dinner)

    Today we will do a full day tour to ancient passes. The first pass we will visit is the Yumen Pass. The pass locates at the frontier of the territory of the West Han Dynasty. And the pass was name so because it is the major way to transfer jade from Central Asia to China. Jade is called YU in Chinese. After visiting here we will continue to visit Yangguan Pass. That path was the strategic passage regarding land route in ancient China. With the declining of Silk Road, the pass was gradually abandoned. But the great number of relics unearthed there will tell modern people story of the pass. Accommodation: Dunhuang

    Day 12Dunhuang to Turpan by Soft Sleeper Train (Breakfast+Lunch)

    In the morning we will conclude Dunhuang tour with Dunhuang Museum to get a glimpse of the history, economy, art, and costume development of Dunhuang area in history. Afterwards transfer to train station (Liuyuan station) to catch the soft sleeper train to Turpan. Accommodation: Soft Sleeper Train

    Day 13 Turpan (Breakfast+Lunch+Dinner)

    Upon arrival in Turpan met by local driver and guide and then transfer to art the Turpan tour with Jiaohe Ruins, one of the most important towns along the ancient Silk Road and the largest, oldest and best-preserved earth construction in the world. Next we will go to visit the Karez Well— an amazing irrigation system which made Turpan a rich oasis. Then we will pay a visit to Flaming Hill, the hottest place in summer of China. At last we will visit the Grape Valley to see how grape is grown and if you travel there between August and Oct, we will try some freshest grape. Back to hotel. Accommodation: Turpan

    Day 14Turpan (Breakfast+Lunch+Dinner)

    Met by local guide and drive at the train station and directly transfer to visit Bizaklik Thousand Buddha Cave, a series of caves with thousands of Buddhism murals that show many Buddhism figures, stories, and the social life about 1,500 years ago in Ancient Gaochang Kingdom. Next drive to visit Sugong Pagoda, the largest existed ancient Islamic pagoda in Xinjiang. Then head for Astana Tombs which is called “Underground Museum of Turpan”. Finally pay a visit to Gaochang Ruins which used to be the capital of ancient Gaochang Kingdom and the important transportation hub of western end of China in the Han Dynasty. Accommodation: Turpan

    Day 15Turpan to Urumqi by Car  (Breakfast+Lunch)

    In the morning pick up from hotel and drive for about 3 hours we will arrive in Urumqi. In Urumqi we will firstly pay a visit to Heavenly Lake. 100 kilometers away from city of Urumqi, Heavenly Lake gives the impression of nobleness, elegance and beauty. Clear lake, snow mountains and soaring pinaster trees compose the charming scenery of the Heavenly Lake. Come to Heavenly Lake, and you will find words are so weak for the surrounding. It will make you totally relaxed no matter you are sitting in a boat, walking in the mountains, or just standing by the lake. Then transfer to hotel in Urumqi. Accommodation: Urumqi

    Day 16Urumqi (Breakfast+Lunch)

    Today we will do a full day tour to Nanshan Mountain Pasture. Nanshan Mountain Pasture is 75km from downtown Urumqi and it is the transition zone of high-relief area and low-relief area. The towering sown-capped mountain, luxuriant plants, wide spread wild flowers, and leisurely cow and sheep herds, and local huts make up an imaginary world. Back to hotel in Urumqi.     Day 17Urumqi Departure (Breakfast)

    Pick up by local driver and guide at confirmed time and transfer to airport for flight departing Urumqi. Service ends here.
