    Itinerary Details

    Day 1Urumqi Arrival (No Meals)

    Our driver and guide will wait for you at the airport terminal exit by holding a welcome sign with your name on it. Then you will be driven to the hotel and have a good rest. The rest of the day is free at your disposal. Accommodation: Urumqi

    Day 2Urumqi (Lunch)

    In the morning we will take a walk around Erdaoqiao Grand Bazaar which is the place with the unique construction located in two bridges, it attracts the lots of tourists to visit, shopping and watch the traditional dancing. Then we will drive to Heavenly Lake and cruise on the lake. It will make you totally relaxed no matter you are sitting in a boat, walking in the mountains, or just standing by the lake.     Day 3Urumqi to Kashgar by Flight (Lunch)

    After breakfast, pick up by your driver and guide and transfer to Xinjiang Museum to have a glimpse of Xinjiang history and costume. But the museum is perhaps best known for the 4,000-year old mummies found in the desert. After lunch, drive to airport for flight to Kashgar. Accommodation: Kashgar

    Day 4Kashgar (Lunch)

    In the morning, we will pay a visit to the Id Kah Mosque, a typical Islamic architecture like domes, minarets and arches, as well as pious prayers. Nearby the Id Kah Mosque is Zhiren Street where you will see many local handcrafts and little tourist souvenirs.Then head to Old Town of Kashgar, where bring you back to the ancient Kashgar, with narrow alleys and traditional houses built with earth or brick. If you happen to travel there on Sunday, you will have chance to see the local livestock market where people bargain in interesting way. Accommodation: Kashgar

    Day 5Kashgar to Urumqi by Flight and to Turpan by Private Car/Van (Lunch)

    Pick up from hotel according to flight time to airport for flight to Urumqi and upon arrival in Urumqi, change to private car/van and be escorted to Turpan. The rest day is free for you. Accommodation: Turpan

    Day 6Turpan (Lunch)

    In the morning, pick up by driver and guide from your hotel and start to days tour with Astana Tombs which is called “Underground Museum of Turpan Area”. The 500 tombs will tell you detailed information of ancient Gaochang Kingdom. Afterwards transfer to visit Tuyuq Village in Tuyugou Canyon to see the traditional Tuyuq Village where you will see vineyards, orchards, narrow roads and irrigation channels stretch through local earth-and-brick houses while taking walk. If you dare to climb steep stairways you will have chance to see some strange caves with visible figures or murals. Next move to Sugong Pagoda, the largest existed ancient Islamic pagoda in Xinjiang. At last move to local vineyard, to see grapes growing and wine making in Xinjiang. Accommodation: Turpan

    Day 7Turpan to Dunhuang by Overnight Train(Lunch)

    Pick up from hotel and go to visit the Jiaohe Ruins, one of the most important towns along the ancient Silk Road and the largest, oldest and best-preserved earth construction in the world. Then we will go to visit the Karez Well— an amazing underground irrigation system which made Turpan a rich oasis. In the afternoon, escorted to train station to catch soft sleeper overnight train to Dunhuang. Accommodation: Overnight Train

    Day 8Dunhuang (Lunch)

    Upon arrival in Liuyuan Train Station you will be met by local driver and guide and transfer directly to Mogao Caves, one of the four most famous caves in China. In the afternoon, continue to visit the Echoing-Sand Mountain. When you slide down the slope, you can hear the roaring echo of sands, hence the name. Walking along the mountain to reach the Crescent Lake, your eyes will be feasted on the crescent-shaped spring surrounded by the endless Gobi desert.     Day 9Dunhuang to Jiayuguan by Car (Lunch)

    In the morning pick up by your guide and driver and transfer to Jiayuguan to visit Jiayuguan Pass, the very west starting point of the Chinese Great Wall. Here you will see the Great Wall on Cliff where you will see another face of Chinese Great Wall.Accommodation: Jiayuguan

    Day 10 Jiayuguan to Zhangye by Car(Lunch)

    In the morning pick up from hotel and drive to Zhangye City. On the way to Zhangye we will appreciate Danxia Land form in Danxia Landform Geological Park. Danxia Land form in Zhangye is the largest of the kind which covers an area of over 300 km2. The colorful landscape looks just like pictures. Accommodation: Zhangye

    Day 11Zhangye to Wuwei by  Car(Lunch)

    pick up from hotel in the morning and drive to Wuwei to visit Leitai Han Tomb, the excavated spot of Chinese national tourism symbol- Galloping horse over Swallow. The tomb itself is a large scaled brick tomb from the East Han Dynasty. Then we will visit Wenmiao Temple. The temple built in the Ming Dynasty is also called Confucius Temple. Ancient people built this temple in memory of Chinese education master Confucius. Concludes today’s tour with Tiantishan Grottoes, which is also known as Giant Buddha Temple. The Giant Buddha housed in the temple is considered the largest architectural relics in Gansu Province. Accommodation: Wuwei

    Day 12Wuwei to Lanzhou by Car (Lunch)

    In he morning drive to Lanzhou we will visit White Pagoda Hill. The hill is named after the white pagoda built in the Ming Dynasty on it. After that continue to visit Water Wheel Garden. The most remarkable thing in this garden is the waterwheel, an irrigation tool invented in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). Accommodation: Lanzhou

    Day 13Lanzhou to Xiahe by  Car (Lunch)

    In the morning pick up from hotel and drive for several hours we will arrive at Labrang Monastery, the largest Buddhist Institute of Tibetan Buddhism. Where tourists will also appreciate thousands of statues of Buddha made of various materials. Accommodation: Xiahe

    Day 14Xiahe to Lanzhou by Car (Lunch)

    Today we will spend one whole day to visit Sangke Grassland to visit witness the typical plateau grassland. The endless grassland is dotted with leisurely livestock and their master. If you have interest, you could ride horse for a while for experience. And upon your requirement, local herdsman will be glad to sing their special songs for you. In the afternoon, transfer to hotel in Lanzhou. Accommodation: Lanzhou

    Day 15Lanzhou to Xi’an by Flight (Lunch)

    In the morning be escorted to Lanzhou airport and take the early flight to Xian. Upon arrival in Xian, met by local driver and guide and drive to visit Shaanxi History Museum which is one the biggest museums in China housing the cultural heritage of Shaanxi Province and shows the development of the Chinese civilization. Then move to ancient City Wall, the largest and best-preserved wall extant in China now, running 13.75km, enclosing the old capital. Concludes today’s tour with Muslim Quarter where you will meet lots of local snacks and little souvenirs. Accommodation: Xian

    Day 16 Xi’an (Lunch)

    In the morning, pick up from hotel and drive for about 1.5 hours to visit the world famous Terracotta Warriors and Horses. In the afternoon back to downtown Xian to visit Big Wild Goose Pagoda which was build 1,300 years ago in the Tang Dynasty to keep the Buddhist Sutra brought back to China from ancient India by Master Xuanzang.     Day 17Xian Departure
