    Day 2 Beijing – Dunhuang by Flight: Yardang National Geologic Park, Yumen Pass, Great Wall of the Han Dynasty

    Day 3 Dunhuang: Mogao Grottoes, Echoing-Sand Mountain, Crescent Lake

    Day 4 Dunhuang – Jiayuguan: Yumen Grottoes

    Day 5 Jiayuguan – Zhangye: Jiayuguan Pass, Danxia Landform

    Day 6 Zhangye – Lanzhou by Train: Giant Buddha Temple, Matisi Grottoes

    Day 7 Lanzhou: Gansu Provincial Museum, Binglingsi Grottoes

    Day 8 Lanzhou – Tianshui: Maiji Mountain

    Itinerary Details

    Day 1Beijing Arrival(No Meal)

    Upon your arrival in Beijing airport/train station, our local guide will wait you by holding a welcome board with your name and transfer to your hotel in Beijing. Accommodation: Beijing

    Day 2Beijing – Dunhuang by Flight (Breakfast + Lunch)

    In the morning meet our driver and transfer to Beijing airport. Taking the flight to Dunhuang. After arrival met by local driver and guide we will drive to appreciate the Yardang Landform in Yardang National Geologic Park. Then move to visit Yumen Pass, the crucial fort along ancient Silk Road for import of Jade in todays Xinjiang Hotan. Last pay a visit to Great Wall of the Han Dynasty. Accommodation: Dunhuang

    Day 3Dunhuang (Breakfast + Lunch)

    In the morning pick up by driver and guide and transfer directly to Mogao Grottoes, one of the four most famous caves in China and the real must see attraction along ancient Silk Road. In the afternoon, continue to visit the Echoing-Sand Mountain. When you slide down the slope, you can hear the roaring echo of sands, hence the name. Walking for some time you will reach the Crescent Lake, your eyes will be feasted on the crescent-shaped spring surrounded by the endless Gobi desert. Accommodation: Dunhuang

    Day 4Dunhuang – Jiayuguan (Breakfast + Lunch)

    After hotel breakfast board the car and drive to Jiayuguan City. On the way we will make a stop to visit Yulin Grottoes. The well preserved Buddhist figures and murals explain religious and social facts of several dynasties in ancient time. Accommodation: Jiayuguan

    Day 5 Jiayuguan – Zhangye (Breakfast + Lunch)

    In the morning we will visit  Jiayuguan Pass, the very west starting point of the Chinese Great Wall. In the afternoon drive to Zhangye to visit the beautiful Danxia Landform which is known to some international friends as Rainbow Mountain. Accommodation: Zhangye

    Day 6Zhangye – Lanzhou by Fast Train (Breakfast + Lunch)

    In the morning pay a visit to Giant Buddha Temple which is considered the largest architectural relics in Gansu Province. The Buddha Figure is so large that only the ear could keep 4 adults at one time. And the highlight of the temple is a Sleeping Buddha. After that you will visit Matisi Grottoes (Horse’s Hoof Temple). Highlight of the over 70 grottoes are Buddhist grottoes culture and Yugu Minor Ethnic culture. Then in the afternoon you will take the fast train to Lanzhou. Accommodation: Lanzhou

    Day 7Lanzhou (Breakfast + Lunch)

    In the morning pick up from hotel lobby and we will visit Gansu Provincial Museum to have some brief background information. Then drive to visit Binglingsi Grottoes by boat to visit the completely preserved grottoes. There are776 Buddha statues, over 1,076 square yards murals and 6 stones sculptures from 1,600 years ago waiting for your exploring. Accommodation: Lanzhou

    Day 8Lanzhou – Tianshui by Car  (Breakfast + Lunch)

    After breakfast we will drive to Tianshui to visit Maiji Mountain. The existing caves were excavated from the Later Qin Dynasty (384-417) to the Qing Dynasty (1616-1912). Among all Buddhist Caves in China, Maijishan Grottoes boasts most attractive natural view. Accommodation: Tianshui

    Day 9Tianshui – Xian by Car (Breakfast + Lunch)

    In the morning meet your guide and driver. We will drive to Xian, the staring point of Silk Road. On the way we will pay a visit to Famen Temple, the excavation place of figure relics of Sakyamuni which used to be an imperial temple of many dynasties and now it is still the sacred place in Buddhist followers’ mind. Accommodation: Xian

    Day 10Xian – Luoyang by Fast Train (Breakfast + Lunch)

    In the morning, pick up from hotel and drive for about 1.5 hours to visit the world famous Terracotta Warriors and Horses. Then drive back to downtown city to Big Wild Goose Pagoda which was build 1,300 years ago in the Tang Dynasty to keep the Buddhist Sutra brought back to China from ancient India by Master Xuanzang. In the afternoon transfer to North Xian Station to catch the fast train to Luoyang. Met by guide and driver in Luoyang. Accommodation: Luoyang

    Day 11Luoyang (Breakfast + Lunch)

    After hotel breakfast you will head to visit Longmen Grottoes, a world heritage culture. The Buddha figures with difference facial features reflect development facts of Buddhism in China. After than you will visit White Horse Temple, the earliest Buddhist temple in central China which was built in the 2000 years ago. Accommodation: Luoyang

    Day 12Luoyang – Beijing by Fast Train  (Breakfast)

    Meet your guide and driver. Then transfer to train station to take the fast train to Beijing. Met by our driver in Beijing and escort you back to hotel or to airport.
