Day 1 Chengdu: Chengdu Giant Panda Research Base, Jinsha Site Museum, Narrow Valley(Lunch)
Day 2 Chengdu – Leshan – Chengdu: Leshan Giant Buddha (Lunch)
Pick up at your hotel at around 08:00. Today’s tour will start with Giant Panda Breeding Research Base, one of the leading protecting and breeding bases of endangered wildlife in China. Tourists would see the lovely giant panda in close distance to observe the daily life of that lovely creature. Besides the giant pandas, there are also other popular wild animals like red pandas, mandarin ducks and peacocks.
Finishing visiting there you will have Hotpot as lunch in a local hotpot restaurant. Then drive to visit Jiansha Site Museum. The museum is built on situ of the capital city ruins of Shu Kingdom which exists 12B.C. -7A.D. The rich amount of unearthed gold and jade relics would surprise you with their exquisite workmanship, and the ruins of city will introduce you the basic layout and scale of the city in 2700+ years ago. After then you will take a walk in Wide and Narrow Alley to enjoy some leisure time. The Alley is a well preserved Qing Dynasty style alley that surrounded by hundreds of quadrangles. And here you will meet lots of local snacks, and have chance to enjoy some relaxing time in tea house, and many other interesting things waiting for your exploration.
After the tour you will be transferred back to your hotel.
After hotel breakfast pick up from hotel and drive for 2 hours we will arrive at Leshan to admire the Leshan Giant Buddha. The Buddha was carved on cliff in the 6th century and stands at joint point of Daduhe River, Qingyijiang River and Minjiang River. The 71 meters high Buddha figure is the largest inscriptions on precipices in China.
You will go upstairs from the backside of the cliff. On the way, you will meet many mini caves which were made in the same time or in the later hundreds of years. Though they are already badly weathered, the ruins of those caves are still attractive to each visitors. Then from the top you can go downstairs from right to get to Buddha foot, from where you can take a full-body picture of the Buddha. Afterward you will ascend to cliff top from left.
After your visiting, you will be escorted back to your hotel.
