Day 1 Beijing Arrival (No Meals)
Upon arrival in Beijing, our local guide will wait you at terminal exit by holding a welcome board with your name and then transfer to hotel. The rest day is free for your disposal. Accommodation: Beijing
Day 2 Beijing (Breakfast)
Our guide and driver will pick you up from hotel after breakfast. Then you will visit the famous Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. After a short sightseeing at Tiananmen Square, you will walk across the Golden Water Bridge and come to the splendid Forbidden City built 600 years ago. After lunch, visit the Summer Palace, the best preserved and largest imperial gardens in China. This evening you will have chance to try Pecking Duck. Back to hotel. Accommodation: Beijing
Day 3 Beijing (Breakfast)
In the morning we will firstly visit the Temple of Heaven, the largest existed worshiping architecture complex in China where emperors in the Ming and the Qing Dynasties did yearly worship to God for good harvest. Nest we will pay a visit Mutianyu Great Wall. Cable car is available if you want to get to the highest point of the Great Wall. After that drive back to hotel. On the way back to downtown city, we will pass by Bird’s Nest and Water Cube, where you can have a short stay to take some photos with them. Then back to hotel. Accommodation: Beijing
Day 4 Beijing to Datong by Soft Sleeper Train (Breakfast)
After breakfast, pay a visit to the Lama Temple, and then hop on a rickshaw for a Hutong Tour through the most characteristic, maze-like neighborhood. Later, take a 6-hour trip on the soft-sleeper train towards Datong. Upon arrival in Datong, met by your local guide and transferred to your Hotel. Accommodation: Datong
Day 5 Datong to Wutaishan by Car(Breakfast)
Explore Datong which boasts numerous renowned attractions. First of all, head for the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Yungang Grottoes, the largest and best-preserved grottoes in China, comprising of over 200 caverns, housing more than 50,000 Buddha Statues. Then head out for a ride towards Wutaishan. On the way there, pay a visit to the miraculous Hanging Temple on Mount Hengshan, which is hailed as one of the most spectacular and mysterious architectural miracle on the history. Then stay overnight at Wutaishan. Accommodation: Wutaishan
Day 6 Wutaishan to Pingyao by Car (Breakfast)
After breakfast, visit Xiantong Temple, one of the oldest Buddhist temples in China with a dazzling Bronze Hall with ten thousand gleaming Buddha statues. Explore the wealth of monasteries on Mount Wutai, one of the Four Sacred Buddhist Mountains. Then transfer to Pingyao, on the way visit the Qiao’s Compound. Stay overnight at Pingyao. Accommodation: Pingyao.
Day 7 Pingyao (Breakfast)
Today we will do a full day tour in 2700 years old Pingyao ancient City. The first stop will be Pingyao City Wall. On the wall top you will have a bird’s eye view of the whole Pingyao City. Next we will move to the Rishengchang Former Bank where you will witness the rudiment of Chinese styled bank in ancient China. In the afternoon we will take a walk in the Street remains the looking of the Ming and the Qing Dynasty which is called Ming Qing Street to feel the trading method of the Ming and the Qing Dynasty. Afterwards we will visit the Pingyao City God Temple. In the temple we will appreciate wonderful wood carvings, paintings and sculptures.Then back to hotel.
Day 8 Pingyao to Xian by Train (Breakfast)
In the morning we will visit Wang’s Family Compound, the residence of Family Wang, a successful business family in the Ming and the Qing Dynasty. The whole family compound covers an area of 250 thousand m2 and enjoys the fame of Forbidden City of folk residence. Then we will move to visit Shuanglin Monastery. A Buddhist temple with more than 1000 year’s history. The highlights in the monastery are Chinese scholar treed planted in the Tang Dynasty, tablets carved in the Song Dynasty, Bell cast in the Ming Dynasty, and colorful sculptures and ancient buildings survived from feudal dynasties. At last transfer to train station for High Speed Train to Xian. Upon arrival in Xian, met by local driver and be transferred to hotel. The rest day is free for you. Accommodation: Xian
Day 9 Xian (Breakfast)
In the morning, you will visit the world’s eighth wonder, the Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum. In the afternoon, back to downtown city to visit City Wall, the best preserved and the largest military defense city wall in China. Tourists could optionally ride bikes on the city wall top. Going down the city wall we will pay a visit to Great Mosque which locates at end of the famous Muslim Quarter. The Mosque is the largest Muslim worshiping place in Xian. At last back to hotel. Accommodation: Xian.
Day 10 Xian-Luoyang-Xian (Breakfast)
In the early morning pick up by driver from hotel lobby and transfer to North Railway Station to catch the high speed train to Luoyang. Getting off the train at Luoyang Longmen Station in 2 hours and our local driver and guide will meet you by holding a welcome board with your name. Then transfer to visit Longmen Grottoes which is a treasure house of ancient stone-carving art more than 100,000 stone statues here,varying from 2-centimeter to 17.14-meter high and extending for about 1,094 yards along both banks of Yi River. It’s about 12 kilometers far away from Luoyang city. Along with Yungang Caves and Mogao Caves as well as Longmen Grottoes are regarded as the three most famous treasure houses of stone inscriptions in China. We’ll end up Luoyang tour with the must-be see attraction–Shaolin Temple which is well-known for the birthplace of Chinese Zen Buddhism and Shaolin Martial Arts .You cannot wait for watching the Kongfu Show performance as the saying goes ‘All martial arts have their roots in Shaolin’. At last transfer to train station to catch the high speed train back to Xian. Met by drive in Xian North Railway station and transfer back to hotel. Accommodation: Xian
Day 11 Xian to Dunhuang by Flight (No Meal)
Pick up from hotel lobby by local guide and transfer to airport for flight to Dunhuang. Upon arrival in Dunhuang, our driver and guide will wait for you at the airport terminal exit by holding a welcome sign with your name on it. Then you will be driven to the hotel and have a short rest. In the afternoon we will visit the Echoing-Sand Mountain. When you slide down the slope, you can hear the roaring echo of sands, hence the name. A short Camel Ride (optional) will leave you a unforgettable memory. Riding along the mountain to reach the Crescent Lake, your eyes will be feasted on the crescent-shaped spring surrounded by the endless Gobi desert. Then back to Dunhuang city hotel. Day 12 Dunhuang (Breakfast)
After breakfast,our guide will take you to the Mogao Grottoes, one of the four most famous caves in China. The grottoes, also know as Caves of the Thousand Buddha, preserve nearly a thousand years of Buddhist cave temple architecture, clay sculpture, mural paintings, and manuscripts, dating from the 5th to the 14th centuries. And in Tourist Reception Center, which functions as Digital Exhibition Center now, tourists will see two 20-minute long digital movies to have a overall understand of Silk Road Tour. Then transfer to learn about Dunhuang’s rich past by visiting Dunhuang Museum, home to thousands of ancient artifacts. Then escort you to the hotel. Accommodation: Dunhuang
Day 13 Depart from Dunhuang
