Xinjiang Museum is the best place to learn about local history and culture. The large numbers of unearthed relics will introduce the past of Xinjiang from various aspects. To most visitors, the essence of the museum collections are the mummies. Due to the special climate, Xinjiang is one of the places that preserve many mummies of ancient people.
Hongguangshan Giant Buddha locates in a grand and sacred Buddhism place locating at the northeast part of Urumqi city. The giant Buddha statue has an altitude of 38.8 meters. Among local people, it is the popular place for religious activities.
Erdaoqiao Market is a representative place of business and tourism of Xinjiang. The Market was built in the typical Islamic style. Various kinds of goods are available in the market. No matter you are going there for sightseeing or shopping, the market will satisfy you.
