Lanzhou is the capital city of Gansu Province in northwest China with the Yellow River running through the city, ensuring rich crops of many juicy and fragrant fruits. The city used to be a key point on the ancient Silk Road. Nowadays, as Silk Road tour becomes increasingly hot, Lanzhou is regarded as a hub of the Silk Road Tourism Ring, with Maiji Caves to the east, Bingling Temple Grottoes to the west, Labrang Monastery to the south and Dunhuang Mogao Caves to the north. Besides the natural and cultural attractions, Lanzhou also is famous for its special Hand-pulled Noodles. Hand-pulled Noodles is the local main food of Lanzhou and is regarded as one of the top ten noodles in China. It is said Lanzhou Hand-pulled Noodles could trace back to the Tang Dynasty. The most distinctive features of the noodles are: thin broth, sliced boiled beef, and fine noodles. Now tourists could find the chain-restaurants of Lanzhou Hand-puled Noodles almost every city, especially in the northern cities in China. Hence Lanhzou Hang-pulled Noodles is honored as the No, 1 Noodles in China.
